LICENSING REFORM URGED

RIGID ENFORCEMENT OF ’ LAW. By Telegraph—Press Association. ~ , Dunedin, Last Night. At a meeting of the Otago branch of the New Zealand Licensing Reform Association, presided over by Bishop Richards, the following resolution was passed: "That in view of the substantial defeat of prohibition at the last poll the Government should accept that declaration as the settled policy of the country on thia matter and proceed to insist on a- more rigorous enforcement of tho existing licensing law’s and .to legislate impartially in the'direction of licensing reform.” A copy of the resolution will be forwarded to the Prime Minister and tho Dominion executive will, be requested to take steps to press forward the licensing reform proposals of the association.
