Lady Carncroee has returned from Dunedin.

Mrs. Beaven, -who has been spending a holiday with Mr. and Mrs. Saunders, has returned to her home in Christchurch.

About thirty pupils, parents, and friends attended the quarterly concert by Miss M. Madden’s pupils at her residence on Monday' evening. During the evening pianoforte solos, duets, songs and monologues were given by the pupils, and a very enjoyable time was spent.

Miss M., Porritt (Stratford), is the guest of \lrs. D.. Saunders. ■

Mrs. Charles Gibson was hostess at a delightful little party at her home, Dalziel Road, on Thursday evening. Among those present were: Mrs. .Turner (senr.), Mrs. J. Taylor, Mrs. H. Turner, Mrs. H. Gibson, Mrs. A. Chrystal, and the Misses H. Wilson, M. Madden, K. Buckridge, and M. Moore.

Mrs. E. A. Best was hostess at a children’fl party at her home on Mountain Road last Saturday for her daughter, Olive’s, ninth birthday. Between 20

and 30 of her school friends were present, and they spent a most enjoyable afternoon.

Airs. Downes, Wellington, is visiting her daughter, Airs. J. H. Morton, charming, being daintily attired in a holiday spent in Auckland. * # # *

Airs. Jardine, who has been spending a few days with Mrs. Shipton, New Plymouth, has returned to Eltham.

Mrs. E. Knuckey its visiting Inglewood.

Mies K. Buckridge, who has been relieving at the Eltham school for the last few weeks, has returned to Hawera.
