London, March 6.

In the House of Commons, Miss Wilkinson introduced a Bill to amend the law affecting the status of married woman by providing that a British woman marrying a foreigner shall not lose her nationality unless she wishes, and that a foreign woman marrying a British subject may acquire British nationality if desired. The Bill is retrospective in the former case, but not In the latter. Women’s organisations in Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa- favoured the Bill, which was read a first time.
