FAREWELL AT WHAKAMARA

TRANSFER OF SCHOOLMASTER. Whakamara residents gathered in large numbers at the hall on Friday to bid farewell to Mr. and Mrs. Kibblewhite, on the eve of Mr. Kibble white’s transfer to Alokoia .'in charge of the local school. 5 The chairman of 1 the Whakamara School Committee, Mr. Dobson, in the course of a short address, said that the district had had several teachers during his time at Whakamara, and he felt sure ho was voicing;' the unanimous opinion of eve-y resident of the district when ho stated ’fhat there had never vet been one teacher that had filled the office as well as Air. Not only had ho been most successful in getting the children on in their studies, but both he and his wife luid at all times entered into the social activities of the district and by their departure would leave a gap that would bo hard to fill. Everyone felt, that Air. aud Mrs. Kibblewhite could not be allowed to leave without an ex u pression in some small tangible manner of the great esteem and regard with which they were both held by the folkof Whakamara. The speaker then presented them with a clock, and said he trusted that each round of its 24 hours would spell for Afr. and Airs. Kibblcwhite one more day of well-deserved happiness and success. ' ■

At. the. same time ho extended to Air. and Airs. Buchanan a very hearty welcome to the district.
