AN EASILY-MADE CHUTNEY.
Chop the tomatoes drained from a quart tin; add. four grated onions and twelve apples, one pound of brown sugar, one teaspoonful of ground ginger, one teaspoonful of cinnamon, half a teaspoonful of allspice, half a teaspoonful of cloves, cayenne pepper to taste, one-third of a cupful of salt, and one quart of tarragon vinegar. Mix the ingredients well and boil for one hour. Bottle, seal and store for use.
