SATISFACTION IN'gREAT BRITAIN.

Whatever motive underlies the Soviet’s peace pact proposals to Poland, and the Baltic States, there is much quiet satisfaction in Downing Street.. It is virtually a vindication of Britain’s policy since the death of the 19’26 protocol, urging regional instead.of general agreements. Some are inclined to think the action is the curtain-raiser to melodramatic Soviet proposals at the disarmament commission in May.
