NEW PLYMOUTH RIFLE CLUB
LONG RANGE AGGREGATE BEGUN. Weather conditions were good for shooting on Thursday and Saturday, when the New Plymouth Rifle Club fired the first stage of the long-range aggregate at 800 and 900 yards. There was very little wind and a good light on Saturday when competitors went down for the first distance, O. P. George registering 49, while scores of 48 and 47 were common. At the longer distance, however, rain caught some riflemen napping, and scores were correspondingly lower. G. H. Taylor’s card of 48—49—97, returned on Thursday, was a particularly fine performance. The scores are:
Next Saturday the first stage of the club championship will be fired, ten shots at 300, 500 and 600 yards. An early start will be made to ensure the completion of the three ranges.
