NEW PLYMOUTH AERO CLUB

VISIT OF MR. DOUGLAS MILL. In the absence of the Mayor, Mr. H. V. S. Griffiths, Mr. G. M. Spence presided over a meeting of the committee of the New Plymouth Aero Club last evening. There were also present: Messrs Eliot King, C. Clarke, C. Gilbert, J. Connett, Green, P, J. Flannagan, G. E. Jago and the secretary, Mr. S E. Nielson. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs Griffiths and Warnock. Regret was expressed that Sir John Salmond was unable to include New Plymouth in his itinerary. A telegram was received from Mr. Douglas Mill, of Blenheim, accepting the club’s invitation to visit New Plymouth, and promising to make the trip at the end of the month. It was decided to telegraph Mr. Mill, stating that they would make arrangements to meet him on auy suitable date on whioh he could make the trip, suggesting that he be met at Hawera and be motored out to the ground selected. It was resolved that as many of the committee as possible should go to Hawera to meet Mr. Mill. It was decided that on Monday afternoon at 3.30, members of the committee would visit any proposed sites at Omata.

A special general meeting of members and all those interested is to be held in the Empire Theatre, if available, on Monday evening.
