KINROSS STRIKES REEF
ITS REFLOATING EXPECTED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, last. Night. Radio signals intercepted at 11.30 p.m. on Sunday indicate that the steamer Kinross is ashore on a Cato Island reef. The ship is making no water and an endeavour was to be made to refloat her at daylight. The Kinross is a steamer of 5234 tons. She visited New Plymouth early last August. Captain H. Patterson is in command and the officers are:—Chief. Mr. W. Gilchrist; second, Mr. J. R. Copping; chief engineer, Mr. T. Torgersen; second, Mr. G. L. Granger; third. Mr. H. C. Barron; fourth, Mr. J. Tweedy; wireless operator, Mr. G. Woods; chief steward, Mr. F. Kelly.
