WOMAN WASHED OFF ROCK

FATALITY ON DUNEDIN COAST. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Oct. 8. A verdict of accidental drowning vra-s returned at the inquest on Catherine Willia Begg, whose death occurred near Sawyer’s Head on October 1. Evidence allowed that Mrs. Begg was the official collector for the natural history section of the National Museum of Wales and was in the habit of collecting specimens from rocks and pools along the coast. She was unacquainted with this coast, where there are many kelp-covered rocks accessible only at low tide. A breaker washed in and the indications were that she was swept from one of these. Her shoes indicated a slip.
