KING ALPHONSO MAY TOUR

VISIT TO DOMINION POSSIBLE BISHOP OF MADRID ENTHUSIASTIC GLOWING REPORTS OF AUSTRALIA. (By Wire—Special to News.) Auckland, Last Night. Will the King of Spain visit New Zealand and Australia? When he hears the glowing reports of Don Javier Irastorza, Bishop of Madrid, he may decide on a world tour. The Bishop of Madrid was King Alphonso’s special representative to the Eucharistic Congress in Sydney and is returning to Spain via America. He arrived in Auckland this morning on the Aorangi, full of enthusiasm for Australia, which he expressed through an interpreter. “Australia is tremendous,” said the bishop. ‘‘l did not expect to see such progress in a young country so far from the old world. “I have brought the salutations of King Alphonso to the Governments of Australia and New Zealand,” continued the bishop. King Alphonso, said the bishop, had talked of visiting America, but after hearing about Australia he might change his mind and make a world tour.
