CLAIMS TO CURE T.B.
WOMAN WILL DIVULGE SECRET. “This is an unusual letter. I think the last we can do is to refer it to the medical staff,” said Mr. W. Wallace, chairman of the Auckland Hospital Board, at the monthly meeting on Tuesday. He referred to a communication from Miss K. Paul, who wrote asking that the honorary medical staff be allowed to test medicine manufactured by herself for the cure of tuberculosis. She stated that the medicine had been tested successfully by her, and in one case a young man had been free from the disease and had been able to go about his usual work for five years. She was willing to divulge the ingredients and manner of preparation to a confidential meeting of medical men, and would supply medicine for test purposes, free of charge. “We have received letters from ‘inventors’ to cures before," observed the chairman, “but they have not been willing to divulge the nature of their preparations.” It was decided unanimously to place the inquiry in the bands of the honorary medical staff.
