COMPLAINT OF SAMOANS
HON. O. F. NELSON PERSISTS ATTITUDE OF THE COMMISSION. SEPARATE MEMBERS APPROACHED By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Australian Press Association. United Service. Geneva, June 19. The Samoan .question, originally on to-day’s agenda, has been postponed until to-morrow. The Hon. O. F. Nelson, of Samoa, his daughter and secretary are still at Geneva, and are occupying a suite in the liest hotel. Sir George Richardson and Sir Joseph Ward are staying at a hotel at two minutes’ distance. There is no likelihood, however, of their meeting, either in the presence of the Commission or privately. Mr. Nelson has sought to place his case before various members of the Commission, with varying degrees of success, according to tire differing views of members on the propriety of such interviews. Tiie League Council ruled in 1926 that individual petitioners should not be heard before the Commission, though it did not make a ruling concerning the individual action of members in elucidation of particular problems. The Commission's meetings are secret and the report will not be published until after the Commission Council in September. Mr. Nelson, if he does not obtain satisfaction now, will seek means of again raising the issue in September.
