Kildeer, a Whangarei-trained Killboy mare, is reputed to have plenty of pace, but likes the mud. She was not suited by the going at Ellerslie, but it should be heavier next month. » # « e

The Auckland horseman, G. Holland, is moving down south, where he will do tho riding for the Triiford stable. Holland is not over-heavy and as ho is equally at home over tho sticks or on the fiat, he should not lack for riding. * « « •

A notable entry for Trentham is Star Stranger, but the fine son of Martian will scarcely be ready to be a dangerous runner. By the way, his owner (Mr.. A. B. Williams) is at present on a visit to New Plymouth.

The Great Northern Derby winner, Martarma, is in work again at Riccarton. As was the ease last year he is not to be hurried, and it will probably be next Christmas before he is seen at his best.

An interesting entry for the Trial Plato is Roscrea, the half-brother by Rossendale to Limerick. He has been given every chance to develop and his career will be followed with interest. « « * •

The Gisborne-owned and trained Singleton has been freely nominated at the forthcoming Wellington meeting. This son of Autumn 'Showed good form in the spring and if he has improved in the meantime should be capable of showing up.

A notable absentee in the Wellington Steeplechase is Glendowio, but the Great Northern winner is all right and will be on hand at the National. He will probably have a run on the fiat at the Te Kuiti meeting at Ellerslie.
