FRUITERERS SEEK EXEMFHON. By Telegraph.—Frees Assoclatkift. Christchurch* Last Night. A large number of applications from fruiterers were before- the court to-day; asking for exemption from the provision of the Shops and Offices Act relating to the eale of tobacco and cigarettes and also of seeds and bedding out plants. In several cases applications in respect of seeds and plants were granted; but in no instance was exemption given in respect to tobacco sales.
