VISIT OF GOVERNOR-GENERAL AND LADY ALICE FERGUSSON

The Governor-General, Sir Charles Fergttsson, and Lady Alice Fergusson, arrived in New Plymouth from Auckland by the mail train last night. There were no formalities, the members of the vice-regal party going straight to the Criterion Hotel, where they will stay during their local visit. This morning, at nine o'clock, the Mayor (Mr. H. V. S. Griffiths) will pay his respects, and at 0.30 Sir Charles and

T/uly Fergusson will be motored to Kawaroa Park, the port and to Western Park. At 10.15 they will visit the Public Hospital, and at 11.30 Pukekura Park ami the fernery. At 12.45 His Excellency will bo the guest of tho Rotary Club at luncheon, and at 2 p.m. be "’ill attend the reception in the sportsground at Pukekura Park. At 3.15 p.m. Me will open the winter show of the Taranaki Metropolitan Agricultural So-

ciety. In the evening he will be the guest of the North Taranaki members. 01 the Masonic fraternity.
