LADIES' GOLF

MacDIARMID CUP CONTEST. A largo field of 42 players took part in the qualifying round of the Mac Diarmid Cup at Waiwakaiho links, New Plymouth, yesterday. Miss Christoffel, who reduced her handicap by four strokes, headed the list of the 32 to qualify, followed in the order of qualifying by Miss Mary Morton, Mrs. Nicholson, Miss Home, Mrs. Quilliam, Mrs. C. H. Weston, Miss Bell, Mrs. Wyatt, Miss Cameron, Mrs. W, Weston, Mrs. Fraser, Miss Brewster, Miss Morton, Miss Rundle, Miss Gavin, Miss Bremer, Miss Alleman, Mrs. Wade, Miss Webb, Mrs. Christie, Mrs. Strang, Mrs. Anderson, Miss Blundell, Miss Stephenson, Miss Eennell, Mrs. Wilson, Mrs. Scanlan, Miss Thomson, Miss Robertson, Mrs. Duff, Mrs. Hill, Miss Hawes. The first round is to be played on June 5. The draw will be posted in the club house.

On Tuesday next the Coronation medal is to be played for by the seniors and a medal handicap has been arranged for juniors. Players are to choose their own partners.
