EX-SERVICEMEN OUT OF WORK
UNEMPLOYMENT IN AUCKLAND. (By Wire—Special to News.) Auckland, Last Night. Tangible evidence of the dull times in industry in Auckland at present is to be had at the office of the Auckland Returned Soldiers’ Association, where exservicemen representing all manner of occupations are registered as being unemployed. Since Poppy Day funds aggregating £llOO have been available for distribution for the relief of unemployment among returned men. Forty-five separate industries or callings are represented by the 350 applicants for work who have found their way to the association. Labourers predominate, but included among those seeking engagements ace tobacconists, hairdressers, warehousemen, wool elassers, welders, boilermakers, blacksmiths, cooks, engineers, enginedrivers and farm hands.
