The Prii ee of Wales wins the chief guest at tho New Zealand Association’s annual dinner. There was an attendance of 400, including Mr. Amery, Lord Jellicoe, Lord Eustace Percy, Lord Kylsant, Sir Joseph Ward, the Hon. William Pember Reeves, Sir Ernest Rutherford and Sir James Mills. Sir James Parr, presiding, contrasted the trade balance of £2,500,000 last year with the present balance of £10,500,000, The farmers in 1928 exported mostly to Britain, the export being £14,000,000 this year, compared with £7,000,000 last year. The Prince of Wales, responding to the toast of his health, said he had compared memories with the Duke of York and they agreed upon the country’s great future. The presence of so many Empire builders and Sir Janies Parr’s figures proved the needlessness of undue boasting.
