BLOW TO SUGAR INDUSTRY
CZECHOSLOVAKIA SEEKS HELP. By Telegraph—Press Assn —Copyright. Australian Press Association. Received May 17, 5.5 p.m. Prague, May 10. Czecho-Slovakian sugar industrialists have issued a memorandum to the Government, urging a grant of £1,160,000 from the public funds, divisible between the industry and the beet growers, to meet losses resulting from changes in the British duties. The Government has intimated that it was considering measures to meet the danger threatening the industry.
