COACH RE-APPOINTED
NORTH TARANAKI CRICKET F WILSON TO RETURN NEXT SEASON VALUABLE WORK WITH THE BOYS. The executive of the North Taro lari Cricket Division last night con armed ths recommendation of a specially appointed sub-committee that Mr. B. 13. Wilson, of Yorkshire, the present North Taranaki cricket coach, be re-engage.l for next season. Mr. Wilson leaves for England by the Makura, which sails from Wellington on March 26, and will return at the beginning of the new season. Appreciati e reference was made last night to Mr. Wilson’s work, the opinion being expressed that probably his most valuable service was in his sound meth id of instructing the boys of New Plymouth. A large part of his time has been devoted to coaching primary sehol pupils, with whom, it was generally agreed, he has made great strides, his methods and personality . eing sum as would best instruct the boys and yet preserve, the necessary balance between discipline and good fellowship.
Though the question of finding the necessary finance has been a difficult one this season, the committed felt that it would be a great pity to dispensa. with a coach just when his work is only beginning to make itself felt, and the particular nentbers who Speirc so much time this season in the o’ganisation and collection of the requisite fund expressed themselves as willing to carry on for the next season in the co urn of cricket. The opinion was expressed that those who had already generously contributed to the fund would not be found wanting when the call was made again next season.
