COAL GAS POISONING
CHRISTCHURCH WOMAN'S DEATH. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. A verdict of suicide by inhaling coal gas while in an unsound state of mind was given by the coroner, Mr. Young, S.M., following an inquest into the death of Margaret Ellen Marshall, who was found dead ;y. her home at. New Brighton on February 2. Dr. McKillop, superinendent of the Sunnyside Mental Hospital, gave evidence that th© woman had been admitted as a mental patient last year, suffering from melancholia. She improved a good deal and was placed on parole on February 1, appearing to be in her usual state of health. She went out walking with a party, but disappeared. No aniety was felt as she often spent an evening at her home. There was nothing to sxiggest suicidal tendencies.
