The death of Hussein Ruehli Pasim. President of the Senate, is reported in a cable from Cairo.
Mr. W. Crawford, of the Dairy Division of the Department of Agriculture at Patea, has received notice of lu» transfer to New Plymouth. Mrs. A. J. Ellingham, of Urenui, died suddenly at New Plymouth on Monday morning. Her husband is a well-known sportsman. Mrs. A. M. Bower, Okau, who died at the New Plymouth hospital on Monday, was buried in Te Henui cemetery yesterday. She was 70 years of age and is survived by Mr. Bower and three sons. The Rev. W. J. Elliott, president of the Methodist Conference, leaves Auckland this evening to unveil memorial windows at the Whitely Church, New | Plymouth. A Dunedin telegram states that Mr. W. O. McKellar has been nominated by the stock and station agents as their representative on the Rural Intermediate Credits Board. Mr. B. Brawber, of Palmerston North, died suddenly yesterday morning. It is understood pneumonia was the cause. Mr. Brawber, who was well known in motor-cycling circles, was a frequent visitor to North Taranaki and to Mount Egmont. A London message reports the death of the Rev. John Howard Shakespeare, aged 71, who raised £750,000 for the Baptist cause.
