SWIMMERS FOR OLYMPIAD

Chambers, secretary of the New South Wales Killies' Swimming Association, states that she has received a letter from the father of Edna Davey asking her t’o notify the Olympic Federation that his daughter will not be available. Mrs. Chambers mentioned that it had been suggested that Miss Davey should proceed to Europe with the lady swimmers from New Zealand, but Mrs. Miller, who is journeying with the Dominion representatives, informed her that it was not possible to arrange this and she would be unable to attach Miss Davey to her team. AUSTRALIAN LADIES' POSITION. A. and N.Z. Sydney, March 13. The secretary of the Australian Olympic Council states he has received no official notification of Miss Edna Davey’s reported withdrawal from the team. He added that the council always intended to appoint a chaperon. The reason the appointment had not yet been made was that the council was waiting to learn the final composition of the team. If funds permitted, Misses Mealing, Thompson and Robinson (the latter the lo yards running champion of New* South Wales! would ineluded.
