STRATFORD STOCK MARKET. KEEN INQUIRY FOR SHEEP. The present dry weathgr lias had no effect on the sheep market, sheep fairs having been held every day for the past week. Splendid entries hav come forward and practically complete clearances have been effected. The demand for two-tooths is exceptionally keen and remains unsatisfied. Prices for this class are 22s 3d, 22s 9d, 23s 2d and 23s lOd, four-tooth wethers 235, fat and forward wethers 23s ad to 245. The demand for breeding ewes is exceptionally keen and the annual drafts from the coast.al stations were eagerly sought after. Station drafts realised 23s 3d, 245, 26s 4d to 26s 6d, and other lines of 4-year breeding ewes 22s Id, 23s to 255, 5-year ewes 17s Bd, 19s 3d to 20s lOd.

Two-tooth ewes are selling from 27s 6d to 295. Lambs are selling well despite the shortage of suitable feed, prices being: m.s. shorn lambs 20s Id, good shorn lambs 15s 3d to 17s 4d, and wether lambs 14s 3d to 15s 6d. Several of the boys who had gone on to the university have passed part of the degree of Bachelor of Agriculture or Engineering. “Owing to the different composition of the classes as regards numbers,” continued the principal, “I have had to make some alterations in the class-rooms. lam now using the assembly room as a class-room, and should be pleased to have some extra shelving and cupboard room. This will not involve an expenditure beyond £2O. An extra blackboard will also be required.” The Kaponga bus service had been established and was bringing six pupils to the school, the report stated.
