Butter prices on the London market show a slight improvement this week, sad the butter market is firm with an upward tendency. Cheese has declined Is. Private cable advice received in New Plymouth yesterday gives the following quotations. Last week’s prices are given in parenthesis:— New Zealand butter.—Salted, 164 a (1625); unsaltcd, 170 s (H>Be). Market firm with upward tendency. New Zealand cbee.-e. -White and coloured, 92s (935). Market steady. Stocks of butter in Britain total 14,000 tons, as compared with 15.000 tons at the same period last year.

Th© position regarding cheese stocks is as follows:—New Zealand cheese iu Britain, 3600 tone (last year 9000 tons); Canadian cheese in Britain, 3,000 tons (3.000 tong last year). Stocks in Canada 5,709 tons (last year 5,700 tons).
