PIGS AND POULTRY SALES. Messrs Newton King, Ltd., report that at their weekly pig sale held yesterday at the haymarket, there was a fair yarding. The prices were as follow: Weaners, 4s 6d to ss; slips, 7s to 9s; stores, 18s 6d to 20s 8d; porkers, 20s 6d to 21s.
Messrs L. A. Nolan and Co., Ltd., report that at their poultry sale cockerels brought from Is 6d to 3s; hens, Is 5d to, 3s; pullets, 4s to 8s; chickens, 3d to Is 2d; ducks, 2s to 3s 9d; geese. 3s 3d; turkeys, 4s 6d; bantams, 6d to Is 6d.
Messrs Webster Bros, report that at their poultry sale cockerels brought 2s and hens. Is 6d. Eggs sold at Is 8d -per dozen.

New Zealand, 92s to 935; Australian, 90s. NO INSURANCE ON SPOILT BUTTER. A. and -N.Z. London, Feb. 9. The insurance companies have definitely declined to pay claims on butter damaged by the flood at the beginning of December. Previously in refusing to pay insurances for damage in this flood the companies classed it as an act ot God. CHICAGO WHEAT MARKET. Received Feb. 10, 5.5 p.m. A. and N.Z. New York, Feb. 9. Chicago wheat quotations are: March, 130 7-8 cents per bushel; May, 1301. LONDON GRAIN MARKET’. Received Feb. 10, 8.30 p.m. A.P.A. and Sun. London, Feb. 9.’ Wheat.—Cargoes are quiet, near positions are easier but there is more Continental inquiry. Parcels are slow with prices unchanged. Liverpool futures are quoted: March, 9s per cental: May. 9s lid; July, 10s OJd. Spot trade, Australian ex-ship, 50s. Flour is quiet, Australian ex-store being quoted at 37s 6d. Oats.—There is a fair demand for Australian Algerians at 28s 6d, and for Gartons at 34s 6d. Peas.—Prussian blues, Tasmanian, 360 s to 380 s; New Zealand, 340 s to 3605. Maples, Tasmanian 90s to 92s 6d; New Zealand, 82s 6d to 85s. Beans 45s to 48s.
LONDON SHEEPSKIN SALE
ALL-ROUND INCREASE IN PRICES.
Received Feb. 10, 8.30 p.m. A. and N.Z. London, Feb. 9.
At th© sheepskin sales 2742 bundles were offered of which 1323 were New Zealand and 1103 Australian. There was a good selection, especially of New Zealand skins. There was a good attendance and keen competition. The home trade bought freely and the Americans participated. Prices advanced as compared with the sale on December 15 as follows:—Merinos by 74 per cent; crossbreds, fine, 10 io 15 per cent.; medium, 10 per cent.; low, 10 to 15 per eent.; pelts, 10 per eent,; lambs, 10 to 15 per cent.
