CAR COLLIDES WITH LORRY
INJURIES TO COAL MERCHANT. Shortly after 4 o’clock yesterday afternoon a collision occurred between a lorry and a service car at the intersection of Morley Street and Y’oung Street, and resulted 'in Mr, Claude Hoskin, coal merchant, being removed to the hospital suffering from slight concussion and shock. Douglas Alexander Hoskin, aged 17, was driving up Morley Street from St. Aubyn Street with his father, Mr. Claude Hoskin, and Mr. Frank Cox as passengers, when they met the service car, driven by Mr, W. Wilson. The car struck the rear of the lorry, turned it completely round, continued across the footpath, and crashed through the fence of Mr. Laferty's property. Mr. Hoskin fell out of the lorry, and when the police and a doctor arrived was unconscious. His condition was reported to be satisfactory last night. The two rear wheels of the lorry and the front of the car were damaged. The occupants of the service car, Mrs. S. Jacksen and Mis. Craig, of Waitara. escaped Injury.
