FOUND DEAD IN A WHARE
SUICIDE BY GAS POISONING. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. A verdict that death was due to suicide caused by asphyxiation from gas ioisoning was returned by the coroner, Mr. B. D. Mosley, S.M., at the inquest upon Henry Harris, 46 years of age, a tally clerk, who was found dead last night in a whare in Cambridge Terrace. Puzzled because she had not seen Harris that day, the owner of the whare in which Harris lived opened the door and looked in. She found Harris lying dead and called the police. The body was reclining on a wicker chair beside a shelf on which was a gas stove. The gas was turned on and the windows and doors closed. Th® man had been dead several hours.
