An Immigration Bill has been introduced into the Senate with the approval of the Secretary for Labour (Mr. James J. Davis) under which quotas from Great Britain and Northern Ireland will be more than doubled and a nett increase of 39,927 immigrants over 1927 will be allowed. The total for 1927 was 317,727.
