MISAPPROPRIATING FUNDS RACING SECRETARY’S FALL. SENTENCE OF IMPRISONMENT. Bs Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Feb. 6. At the Supreme Court to-day Christian Harton, formerly secretary to the Te Kuiti Racing Club, admitted misappropriating £232 of the club’s funds. He was sentenced to two years' reformative detention. Other sentences were:—Robert Leonard Pickering, for forgery at Thames, three years’ reformative detention. Maurice Chapman, who admitted forging a cheque for £lOO, 12 months’ hard labour. Francis William Sweetman, aged 28, for bigamy, two years’ hard labour. Myra McKernan, a married woman, for obtaining money by false pretences at Whangarei, three years’ probation, condition’ll on £4O being repaid by instalments.. Edward Russell Everett,' lor theft, forgery and attempted uttering, probation for one jear.
