RIFLE SHOOTING.
■CLUB SHORT RANGE AGGREGATE. POSSIBLE UNDER HARD CONDITION . The New Plymouth Rifle Club held the second shoot of the short range aggregate over ranges of 500yds and 600yds on Thursday and Saturday last. On Saturday conditions were not of the easiest, the wind requiring constant watching, while on Thursday the wind was not- only very tricky, but also very nearly up to gale strength. J. G. Turnbull’s possible under such conditions was therefore a very meritorious effort, a-s was also his 43 at 600yds. The next best score at 500yds was Parker’s 48, while at 600yds Higgs (46), followed by Clarke and Robinson (4'5), made the best showings. For the day Turnbull made the club ‘Standard 93 off the gun, white five handicap men also reached the standard. The scores are:— 500 600 Hep. Ttl.
