DEFALCATIONS ADMITTED
SALESMAN FOR SENTENCE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Defalcations amounting to £539 were admitted in the Court to-day by Donald McLeod .Wilson, a salesman in Kirkcaldie and Stains, drapers. He was appointed to assisf the accountant in April, 1924, at £7 weekly. His practice, according to the evidence, was to steal cash and make out valueless cheques for the amounts. On November 9 he admitted the offence and surrendered to the police. To them he made a statement that some of the money was used to repay a debt of £2OO owed to a firm and the rest was spent on gambling. Wilson, the police said, had given every assistance in clearing up tlie matter.
Accused pleaded guilty and was committed for sentence. Bail of £250, with one surety of a like amount, was res newed.
