MANY MINERS MAY BE IDLE. By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Sydney, Nov. 14. As a result of slackness in the coal trade many miners have been given notice of dismissal. For a long time past the demand, particularly from overseas, for Australian coal has been on the decrease. It is stated that frequent trouble on the coalfields and the absence of a guarantee of the regular fulfilment of orders has induced many overseas customers to look elsewhere for supplies.
