An attack on the Soviet Consulate was made by 1000 male and female White Russians, who stormed the buildirg, stripped off the red bunting, and forced an entrance. The Soviet Consular staff used firearms to rep»l the attack. They killed one and wounded six of the assailants. The police restored order and stood by throughout the night. The incident was marked by unusual scenes of grief. Women screaming and tearing the Soviet flags in rage climbed the outside wall, seeking an entrance by the windows. They hurled bricks at Illa windows, few remaining uuhrokcy.
