INVENTOR LOSES CLAIM
CONCRETE WORKER’S ACTION. PATENT NOT INFRINGED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Mr. Justice Reed gave judgment today in an action in which Roland Moore Maynder, a builder, of Palmerston North,' claiming he was the inventor of concrete' tiles, alleged that the Wanganui Sash and Door Factory and Timber Company had infringed his patent and sought an injunction. Judge Reed said -that whilst giving fullest consideration to the fact that the Konka sheet has 'had a vogue in jte home town and surrounding districts and has thereby raised a prima faeieease for invention, I find it impossible to say, in view of .the public knowledge existing at Hie time, that any exercise of the invention was necessary to,the first production of this patented building sheet.. Judgment was given for defendant .with costs on the highest scale, as on a judgment for £2OOO.
