CHURCH SERVICES BY RADIO

CHRISTCHURCH RECOMMENDATION. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Oct. 15. That the Church of England should establish radio broadcasting stations in Christchurch for the dissemination of church services was a proposal placed before the Christchurch Diocesan Synod last night. The Synod referred the matter to the standing committee, with power to appoint an external committee. Bishop West-Watson said wireless had come to stay and, by establishing a .station, the church would only be working in with the people. They should not adopt the attitude taken up when steam engines were introduced.
