THE PACIFIC PROBLEM
ADDRESS BY REV. J. D. WILSON. Arranged as one of a series of addresses to members of the Ne-v Plymouth Territorial and Cadet Community Club, the Rev- J. D. Wilson gave a lecture at the close of the parade at the Coronation Hall on Monday evening. Taking as his subject "The Pacific Problem,” Mr. Wilson first pointed out that the white domination of the world dated back no more than 500 years. He detailed the strength of the Oriental races and the state of settlement of the various lands bordering the Pacific, and he referred to the greatness of certain coloured races in the distant past. He explained the likelihood of the Pacific becoming the centre of world affairs, and by historical comparison showed how it was possible for a country as small as New Zealand to play a very big part. The purpose of the address was to cause the boys to realise the broad outlines of the problem and to help prepare them, perhaps, to play a part in its solution. An attentive hearing and hearty applause at the elose indicated that the boys appreciated Mr. Wilson's remarks.
