FATAL MOTOR SMASH

WAIKATO RESIDENT KILLED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Hamilton, Sept. I. A fatal accident occurred at To Arolia at 8 a.m. to-day, when A. A. Wagstaff, a prominent local resident, lost his life. The deceased, accompanied by his daughter Connie, was driving to Te Arolia station, when the car skidded at the bridge and he was thrown out into the creek and drowned. The body was afterwards recovered some distance downstream. His daughter was picked up unconscious on the road. Mr, Wagstaff was prominently associated with all public affairs and was a member of the Waikato Hospital Board, president of the Thames Valley A. and P, Association, besides being a member’ both of the local Drainage Board and the Waitoa Drainage Board.
