WRECKED LAUNCH SALVAGED

HAULED UP BY FLOATING CRANE,

By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The fishing launch Norna, owned by Mr. Andrew- Tait, which was wrecked off Barrett’s Reef on the night of August 16, when three men had to swim for their lives, was successfully salvaged from 60 feet of water to-day by the Wellington Harbour Board’s floating crane Hikitea. The Norna was 55 feet long, with a 14 feet beam, 6 feet deep, and had 30 tons displacement. Since the night of the accident the launch had been rolled 200 yards from the plaee of sinking by the ground swell.
