FOOTBALL BROADCAST

CANTERBURY CHANGES VIEW. COMPANY GRANTED RIGHTS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. At a meeting of the Management Committee of the Canterbury Rugby Union to-night it was decided, on. the easting vote of the chairman (Mr. A. McPhail), that permission be granted to the Broadcasting Company to broadcast descriptions of matches played under the union’s control for the present season only. This decision reverses the decision of the committee a fortnight ago. There was considerable difference of opinion amongst the delegates, and when the vote was taken to-night there were six for and six against, and the chairman decided in favour of the company.
