MARLBOROUGH EASILY BEATEN. ELEVEN GOALS TO NIL SCORED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Blenheim, Last Night. The Canadian Soccer team beat Marlborough by 11 goals to nil. The game was played in showery weather. Despite a greasy ground and a heavy ball, the visitors gave a bright and pleasing display of scientific Soccer, completely outclassing the youthful home side, which lacked aggressiveness and combination. Marlborough held the visitors fairly well in the first quarter, but their goal throughout was subjected to a hot fusilade of shots, many of which Beirne, the local goalie, saved nicely. For the Canadians Turner (3), Pogson, Thomson and Archibald (2 each), Williams and Mulligan scored. Mr. F. Saunders (Wellington) refereed.
