LICENSING COMMITTEE.

THE ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Stratford Licensing Committee was held at the court yesterday, when there were present on the bench Messrs. R. W. Tate, S.M. (chairman), W. Hathaway, N. R. Cleland, J. W. McMillan, C. D. Sole and E. Marfell. Renewals of licenses were granted Edward Beattie, Commercial Hotel, Stratford; William Francis . Pellett, Whangamomona Hotel; Frederick William Whittle, Stratford Hotel; Stewart Campbell Dunbar, Empire Hotel, Stratford; William Patrick McMahon, Toko Junction Hotel; Bridget O’Neill, Railway Hofei, Inglewood; and William John Gray, Mount Egmont Hotel, Midhirst. A permanent transfer in respect of the license of the County Hotel was granted from William Patrick Kirkwood to Edward John Kirkwood. A wholesale license was granted Daniel Joseph Malone, of Stratford. New licenses in respect of old houses were issued to Edward John Kirkwood, County Hotel, Stratford, and Matthew Blake, Tariki Hotel. The applications of John Bethune, Club Hotel, Stratford, and Charles Alfred Blake, Inglewood Hotel, were adjourned for three months, the former pending a certificate of fitness and the latter to enable certain requirements of the Health Department to be completed.
