AUCKLAND MEETING. ACCEPTANCES ANNOUNCED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. Acceptances for the Auckland Raving Club's Easter meeting are: —

DISQUALIFIED FROM TURF. ’ SUSPENSION BY RACING BODY. Auckland, Last Night. Toward the end of last year, L. H. Wynyard, who is well-known in racing circles in Auckland, went to Sydney, and. it is alleged that during the time he spent in New South Wales, he went to the Newcastle races on November 24. He was a disqualified person at the time, having incurred the displeasure of the racing authorities twice previously. An inquiry was held by the Auckland District Committee of the New Zealand Racing Conference, and they came to the following decisions:—“That the committee are satisfied, on the evidence, that L. H. Wynyard was present at the Newcastle race meeting on November 24, 1926, while a disqualified person, and that he may be, and is, hereby disqualified for a tejm of six months from March 15, 1927, and fined a sum of 5 sovs. in terms of Rule 4, part XXXII of the Rules of Racing.”

The second resolution was; “That L. H. Wynyard is guilty of a corrupt practice under the Rules of Racing within the meaning of part XXXII, Rule I (H), and that he'be, and is, hereby disqualified for a term of three years from April 7, 1926.” WAIRARAPA RE-HANDICAPS. The Lamb is galloping very well, and ran a mile in Imin 4Ssec. Euchre hit out freely twice round at half pace.

TURF TOPICS. (By “Moturoa.”) The Easter meetings are now the principal topic in the sporting world. Taranaki turf patrons are offered two splendid day's sport at Hawera, where large fields of first class light harness horses promise to face the starter on Easter Saturday and Monday. » * * • Those who prefer the gallops will go to either Ellerslie or Feilding, at both of which places numbers of -Taranaki trained horses will be seen under silk. Further afield there will be Easter racing at Tauhrenikau, Riccarton, Riverton, Waipukurau, and a number of minor centres. • • « « The appearance of Auckland acceptances this morning will be of particular interest to those in search of winners at Ellerslie. Acceptances for Feilding and Waipukurau do not close until Monday. Wairarapa acceptances are due on Tuesday, and final payments and ecceptauces for Canterbury on Wednesday. • • * •

Racing at Masterton did not shed a great deal of light on Easter “possibilities.” True, th A.R.C. Easter candidate, Royal Divorce, showed a return to lorni, but the imported horse beat nothing of much consequence, and an Easter field is an entirely different proposition. Ardath was awarded list in the Brighton Hurdles, an open event, at Ellerslie, of which hostile comment has already appeared in this column. By way of contrast, Feilding weights show that Mr. Henrys only considers that the Hallowmas —-Rau Rau gelding is entitled to list 31b m a very ordinary field in the Kawa Kawa Hack Hurdles there. The Wellington handicapper is better acquainted with the performances of Ardath—that is certain. " * • * *

The Fordell cast-off, Raukura, was not long in winning a race, and returned a satislactory price at Masterton on Thursday. Of the placed division, Addlepate, who was third in the Telephone and Dash Handicaps, appears to be the mostly likely proposition for a win at Easter. « * • *

The surprise of Thursday’s racing at Opaki was the fine second dividend returned by Colarina in the Trial Stakes. The Elysian-Catalim filly has so far failed to win a race, and her army of followers have generally , lost a few shillings in the pound as the result of her numerous seconds. There is hope for her yet. * * * • Hynanna’s complete failure in the xiutumn Handicap at Masterton suggests that the three-year-old has gone off. This comes pf a three-year-old having been set too heavy, an autumn programme. Good- as tin: son of Hymestra certainly is, he will not carry our money at Easter. * * # # The best of the day at Opaki on Thursday was undoubtedly Henna. The Kilbroney filly, as reported at the time, was unlucky at Bulls, and the good dividend. returned at Masterton came as a surprise. Another win will come her way before long. * * * • Latest advices are,to the effect that Rapine will race at Ellerslie this Easter. Some scribes consider that he will keep Keremoan:. busy in the Easter Handicap (it they meet) at a difference of 91bs. ’that remains to be proved, but at all events, there are other races at the Auckland and Avondale meetings in which Rapine may pay expense®. • • • • Two classic events, each worth 800 sovs., appear to be at the mercy of G. D. Greenwood’s horses at Riccarton this Easter. Agrion, Eulalie and Autobiography have all won good races, and there appears to be nothing engaged in either the Chanpaigne or Challenge Stakes likely to trouble the stable’s elect. Mr. Greenwood won the Challenge Stakes m 1910 with Armlet, since when the same colours have been carried to victory by Gloaming (four times), Einperador, Biplane and Tressayer. During the same period Greenwoods record in tile Challenge Stakes has not been so good, only Rencontre and Farceur winning for the stable. » * • * The problem which confronts owners of jumprs this winter is that of securing a decent horseman. With Alan McDonald, C. Stratton, E. Copestake and other good norsemen out of the game—not to mention others “resting”—capable riders over hurdles and steeplechase country could be counted on the fingers of one hand. Mention of E. Copestake brings to mind the great respect with which the Wanganui horseman was held, as evidenced by the lengthy cortege of between 40 and 50 cars which followed iris remains to Aramoho cemetery on Wednesday last. Sportsmen from all parts of’tlie Dominion w.ere represented, or were there in person, and, the pallbearers were Messrs. J. Fryer, J. Barry, B. H. Morris, L. G. Morris, Frank Lind and F. Corlett. The deceased jockey, it might be mentioned also, served part of his time with Mr. Percy Johnson, of . ,ew Plymouth, and part with Mr. C. Jackson, of Hawera.

TROTTING. (By “Equitable.”) Very good acceptances have been received for the first day of the Wanganui Trotting Club’s meeting which takes place on the Wanganui racecourse today. One of the most successful meetings the- club has held for a number of years. *• * * »

Enawak, the Gisborne bred racer, is She first of the American bred trotter,

Peterwoh’s stock to race. The mare, though on the email side, has a nice style of pacing. She is a half sister to that good performer Explosion. Kalgina and Firebell are engaged in the same race. Van-Cap, who is off the front of the Eastbrook Handicap, was a winner - last year. . The son of Van Coronada is well treated in to-day’s race, and along with Castle-Chimes, on the 12yds, and HalHuon, on 60, should make things interesting. * * On Bright Light’s running at New PNmouth his party .should be well satisfied with the way the half brother to Rose Pointer is treated, and with W. Willets in the cart Bright Light will go out at a short price. Midland, on 36, and Ben Bingen on 84, are a couple that can turn on the speed for one and a-half miles. * * * • The Cup Field, taken all round, are a very poor lot. The southern mare, Great Actress is engaged in the Hawera Cup, which is a 4-42 class. To-day, she will be racing off 4-47 mark. Karma and Dillon’s Pride have a fair turn of speed. * # * * Hawera trained pacers seem to hold, a strong hand in the mile saddle. Great Kevin is as fit as can be. Owner George Richards, will take the mount. Item, from Green’s stable, can cut out a merry mile, and Master Cute, on 48, is a good saddle horse. These three are likely to exceed the speed limit, which is a 2-25 mile. * * * * The £lOO stake is not very tempting to encourage the back-markers to chop off time in the Presidents Handicap for the tighter class at the coming Hawera meeting, and bigger stakes will be more suitable for this class of trotter. Midland, Tui-Bells, and Native Star, are three handy plodders that can go the distance. # * * * Explosion is off a 4-54 mark to-day, and is handicapped at the coming Hawera meeting to go the same. distance in 4-50. This gelding is the makings of a Cup horse. Is the stake big enough? Firebell and Makauri Bell have been doing it well lately. * * * • By the time the Morton Memorial Handicap comes around most of the horses engaged will have had a race. Mary Andubon will be fresh and full of joy. Lady Zoe and Halgana can turn it on for one and a-quarter miles. # * * # As soon as the handicaps came out, Logan Park was one of the early fancies for the Hawera Cup. He is a bold, long striding pacer and a good stayer. Logan Park is by the defunct sire Logan Pointer, and is trained in the south. • • • * Van Cap, who is nominated in the Hawera Cup, will have to improve a lot in manners to have a chance. Trainer Green has been putting the work into the son of Van Coronada lately. * * * # Havland, the trotter under G. Richard’s care, has been laid up with a cold and George is giving the big fellow a few days’ let up. Havland is likely to take his place amongst Hie trotters at the Hawera Easter meeting.
