OBITUARY.

WILLIAM WALSH, OF NGAERE. In the death of Mr. William Walsh, farmer, of Finerty Road, Ngaere, at his residence on Thursday, the district loses one of its earliest pioneers, and general regret will be felt by the many friends of the family. Mr. Walsh was born in Madras, India, his father being a British soldier. He came out to Taranaki with his. parents 65 years ago. Mr. Walsh for many years worked on the railways in Taranaki on the maintenance stall. About 30 years ago he took up land in the Ngaere district, owning farms on the Cheal, Cornwall and Finnerty roads. He had been in failing health of late, and his passing was not unexpected. He is survived by his widow and grown-up family. The funeral will leave , the Eltham Catholic Church to-morrow (Sunday) for the Eltham cemetery.—Argus.’
