BEAM WIRELESS SERVICE

LINKING UP THE EMPIRE ANGLO-AUSTRALIAN MESSAGES OPEN FOR PUBLIC USE ON FRIDAY (British Official Wireless.) Rugby, April 5. The Anglo-Australian beam service wid be opened for public traffic on Friday morning. The new service places London in direct communication with Melbourne. At the outset it will be available only for telegrams to and from Australia at rates varying from 2Ud per word for ordinary telegrams to 6d per word for deferred daily and od for week-end letter telegrams. Ordinary Press messages are to be carried at 4d. and deferred Press messages at 3d per word.
