MOTOR SMASHED TO MATCHWOOD. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. Smashed to matchwood, the motor-car oi Sydney Ernest Chappell was a complete wreck in the Valley Road early this afternoon, when it was lifted away from the front of a tramcar that was bound for the eity. The accident had occurred through Mr. Chappell failing to notice the tramcar. It was raining heavily at the time and his windscreen was blurred. The ear was struck broadside on by the tram and Joseph Chappell, who was with the driver, had his hand badly lacerated.
