COUNTY COUNCIL NOTICES. COUNTY OF TARANAKI. SPECIAL ORDER AUTHORISING LOAN OF £530. MOVED BY COUNCILLOR J. CONNETT. J’HAT in pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it by Section 17 “Local Bodies Loans Act,” 1926, and of all other Acts and powers (if any) it in that behalf enabling and with the consent of the ratepayers of the Te Arei Road Special Rating District of the County of Taranaki testified by a petition signed by not loss than three-fourths of the ratepayers in the said Special Rating District the capital value of whose properties as appearing in the valuation roll of the said County is collectively greater than the capital value of the properties of the ratepayers who did not so consent, the Taranaki County Council hereby resolves by way of Special Order as follows: That the Council proceed to raise a loan of five hundred and thirty pounds for the purpose of forming and metalling the Te Arei Road. That such Loan be called the Taranaki County Te Arei Road Special Rating District Loan of £530, 1927. That the currency of the said loan shall be for a period of thirty-six and half years (36} years). That the interest on the said ban shall be at the rate of £5 15/- per centum per annum, and shall be payable halfyearly on the first day of April and October in each and every year. That the form of security for the payment of principal and interest on the said loan shall be one debenture of five hundred and thirty pounds (£530), and relative coupons in a form in conformity with th e provisions of the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926. That the Council doth hereby appropriate and pledge as security for the repayment of the said loan and the interest, sinking fund, and other charges thereon, the special rate of one and eleven-sixteenths pence (1 and 11-16ths) in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Te Arei Road Special Rating District of the County of Taranaki. That the principal and interest shall be payable in Melbourne free of exchange. That it is proposed to provide a sinking fund of one per cent. That the cost of raising the said loan be paid out of the loan. Seconded by Councillor Vickers, and carried. The foregoing resolution was passed at a special meeting of the Council held on Monday, the 7th day of March, 1927, and will be submitted for confirmation at a Special Meeting of the Council to be held at the County Chambers, Robe Street, New Plymouth, at 2 p.m. on THURSDAY, the 14th day of April, 1927.
