KAWAROA PARK

SUCCESSFUL AFTERNOON. Many gifts of different . kinds and £7 10s in cash were received for the Kawaroa Park fete on Easter Monday as the result of a social afternoon in the Bungalow on Saturday. There was an attendance of about 100 and the hostesses (Mesdames W. Oliver, G. A. Gorney and V. H. Beal) were helped by a large and energetic committee. The success of the day was largely due to the untiring energy of Mrs. Oliver, wlio the afternoon, and Mesdames Beal, Wallath and Irvine, who carried out their duties in a very businesslike manner; A competition arranged by Mesdames Brash and Everiss was won by Mrs. Hooker, with Mrs. Muir second; Mesdames Muir, Neal, and Monk all gained the same marks, and Mrs. Muir won the draw. The programme was provided by:— Mrs. Rowe and Miss Jones (overture), Mrs. Wells (song). Miss Norma Beal (recitation), Mrs. Gillick (song), Misses Erickson (pianoforte duet), Mrs. Ferrick (song), Mrs. Hill (recitation, by special request), Miss Joyce Beal (piano solo), Mrs. Powell (song), Miss Jones (violin solo).
