BOWLING

FINAL OF CENTRE COMPETITIONS. The northern executive of'the Taranaki Bowling Centre met last night. Present: Messrs. E. Dingle (chairman), A. K. Smart, A. T. Moore, T. Petty, J. W. Abbott and F. J. Hill (secretary). It was decided that the finals of the centre shield competitions should be played at Eltham on Saturday. The draw was made as follow: First Round.—Fitzroy v. Avon; Manaia v. Pihama. Second Round. —Fitzroy v. Pihama; Manaia v. Avon. Third Round.—Fitzroy v. Manaia; ir'n v. Pihama. The shield will be held by the team that secures most wins. It is expected that the competition will be finished on Saturday, but in the event of a tie the date of the play-off will be arranged between the two teams interested. CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS. Fourteen club champions will meet at Stratford on Thursday at 9 a.m. to find the singles champion of Taranaki.
